Refund Policy
Apprentice & Trainee:
Any enrolled individual may cancel his or her enrollment with IEC of
Washington at any time.
Refunds for tuition will be made in compliance with the following
procedures.
Refund Due Dates:
Refunds will be processed within forty-five (45) calendar days from
the documented date of determination.
The date of determination is the date the student gives
written or verbal notice of withdrawal to IEC of Washington
Administration or the date IEC of Washington terminates the student,
by applying the institution’s attendance, conduct, or Satisfactory
Academic Progress policy.
Traditional Classroom Instruction
Cancellation before the start of class:
1.
If an applicant is rejected for enrollment by IEC of Washington, or
if a prospective international student has his/her visa application
rejected, a full refund of all tuition monies paid will be made to
the applicant.
2.
If IEC of Washington cancels the course of study subsequent to a
student’s enrollment, IEC of Washington will refund all tuition
monies paid by the student.
3.
If an applicant cancels his or her registration within five (5)
business days (excluding Sundays and holidays) after the day the
contract is signed or an initial payment is made, as long as the
applicant has not begun training.
4.
If an applicant accepted by IEC of Washington cancels after the
fifth business day after signing the contract or making an initial
payment and prior to the start of scheduled classes or never attends
class (no-show), IEC of Washington will refund all tuition monies
paid, less a maximum application/registration fee of $100.
IEC of Washington may retain an additional $150, for a
maximum of $250, when students are recruited from outside the United
States or its territories and possess a visa or the equivalent to
enter the country for study.
Cancellation or Withdrawal after the start of class:
1.
IEC of Washington may retain an administrative fee from paid tuition
associated with withdrawal or cancellation fee of $100.
2.
During the first week of classes, tuition charges withheld will not
exceed ten percent (10%) of the stated tuition up to a maximum of
$500. When determining
the number of weeks completed by the student, IEC of Washington will
consider a partial week the same as if a whole week were completed,
provided the student was present at least one day during the
scheduled week.
3.
After the first week and through fifty percent (50%) of the period
of financial obligation, tuition charges retained will not exceed a
pro rata portion of tuition for the training period completed.
4.
After fifty percent (50%) of the period of financial obligation is
completed, IEC of Washington will retain the full tuition.
5.
No scholarship money will be refunded to a withdrawing student.
Such refund would be sent to the scholarship awarding agency.
In the case of partial tuition scholarships, pro-rata deductions
will be deducted from the withdrawing student's refund, and will
exhaust the contributions of the withdrawing student before being
applied to scholarship funds.
Online/Distance Education Instruction
Cancellation Refund Policy
1.
If an applicant is rejected for enrollment by IEC of Washington, or
if a prospective international student has his/her visa application
rejected, a full refund of all tuition monies paid will be made to
the applicant.
2.
If IEC of Washington cancels the course of study subsequent to a
student’s enrollment, IEC of Washington will refund all tuition
monies paid by the student.
3.
If an applicant cancels his or her registration within five (5)
business days (excluding Sundays and holidays) after the day the
contract is signed. If a dispute over date of notification arises,
it is the responsibility of the applicant to prove date of service.
4.
If an applicant accepted by IEC of Washington cancels after the
fifth business day after signing the contract or after the fifth
business day but before IEC of Washington receives the first
completed lesson IEC of Washington will refund all tuition monies
paid, less a maximum application/registration fee of 15% of the
total tuition or $100, whichever is less.
IEC of Washington may retain an additional $150, for a
maximum of $250, when students are recruited from outside the United
States or its territories and possess a visa or the equivalent to
enter the country for study.
5.
After IEC of Washington receives the student’s first completed
lesson and until the student completes half the total number of
lessons in the program IEC of Washington will refund a pro-rata
portion of tuition paid.
6.
After fifty percent (50%) of lessons are completed, IEC of
Washington will retain the full tuition.
7.
No scholarship money will be refunded to a withdrawing student.
Such refund would be sent to the scholarship awarding agency.
In the case of partial tuition scholarships, pro-rata deductions
will be deducted from the withdrawing student's refund, and will
exhaust the contributions of the withdrawing student before being
applied to scholarship funds.
Charges other than tuition:
All extra costs, such as books, lab fees, and activity fees not
included in the tuition price are not subject to the refund
computation. No refund
of these fees will be made for requests received after August 17,
2009 or materials are issued to the student.
Delinquent Tuition Policy: Individuals
who have not paid tuition and fees will not be issued books or
allowed to begin classes.
Failure to pay tuition in full by the required deadline and
to start school as required may result in action by the
Apprenticeship and Training Committee up to and including
cancellation from the program.
If a waiver to this policy is requested and approved, students will
be placed on a payment schedule requiring payments not less than
monthly and concluding with payment in full by the end of the first
quarter of the school year.
Students who fail to meet these payment deadlines may be
subject to disciplinary action by the Apprenticeship and Training
Committee up to and including termination from the program.
Outstanding unpaid debt will be submitted to collections.
